Jazz music video

For the music video to Disconnected I want it to be a performance video. I would like to start with a long shot coming into Jazz in Afghanistan playing the piano while the war is going on around her. It will then be a close up of the piano keys and her playing it. She will then stand up on the first chorus and start walking through the middle of the war zone and singing to the camera this will be a mid shot. As she is walking away from the piano it gets shot up/blown up. When she is walking through the war zone it will have cuts to soldiers firing guns and throwing grenades. It will cut back to Jazz walking through the middle of the war zone and go back and forth from her to the soldiers throughout the whole of the music video. The end of this music video it will be her standing still in the middle while the firing stops this will be a slow zoom out.

Evaluation For Sound Presentation.

For this assignment we had to do a presentation on sound for a five minute clip of our choosing. For this assignment I worked with Jack Neale and we both decide to choose a clip from an episode of Doctor Who were The Silence is breaking through the door. We chose to do this clip as we are both fans of the show and we had some information about it; and we also thought we could get really good examples of diegetic and Non-diegetic sound.

I believe that our presentation went really well as we got a merit for it. I believe that we chose the right clip for this as it had a very large mix of diegetic and non-diegetic sounds. I think we were really detailed with our presentation and also I think we had good examples of the research that we done. 

I think if we could do it again I would like to make notes and not read off of the sides as it would make it seem more professional and more organized. I would also like to have given myself more time to work on it as I believe that we would have used notes if we did.

In the song I think that the video really suits the song as the lyrics say “take me back to the start.” This could suggest that somebody heard this song and thought we should have the video in reverse to suggest that he is going back to the start. In the song it also says ‘Come up to meet you tell you I’m sorry.” This suggest that he has done something wrong witch could also why he is going backwards.
