Multi Camera and Single Camera
Multi-camera set up is the use of more than one camera. This set up is really useful when used for This set up is useful for these types of programs as you can get loads of shots from different angels without the hassle of moving the camera to get a different shot. This is better because if you move the single camera you might get continuity it the shot.
The multi-camera is best used in sport, live performances, chat shows and games shows.
When multi camera is used, all the equipment is hooked up to a tricaster. This is what is used to take all the shots and save them. It is also used so you can choose when to chance the shot. This is used filming live performances.
The muti-camera set up consists of more than one camera set up at different angles. Each camera would be named 1, 2, 3, 4 or a, b, c, d. this is the presenters know what camera to look at. Each camera would have a different shot lined up such as close up, mid shot, long shot ect. This is an advantage because where there are multiple cameras and they are set up in different angles and shots you can just change camera instead of moving one camera to get a different shot as doing this might cause continuity.
When shooting in multi-camera set up there is a lot more equipment to set up. This means that it would take more time to set up; also means you need more crew this means it costs more money. Another disadvantage is there is the problem with amount of crew that you might get other camera men in shot. Another disadvantage is that it is harder to keep control of the set as there is more equipment and more crew.
